Ultra-lightweight, ultra-fast, and ultra-loud. If you can endure strong fan noise, the Eluktronics RP-15’s CPU performance will not disappoint.
The system has an octa-core Ryzen 7 4800H CPU, GeForce RTX 2060 graphics, and a 1080p 144 Hz matte display. It also has many similarities with the Walmart EVOO Gaming 15, Schenker XMG Neo 17, and XMG Core 17, since all of these models use white label Tongfang chassis designs.
Eluktronics RP-15 laptop manufacturer from Delaware. To be honest, this monster blows all of the other AMD Ryzen-based laptops out of the water.
Normally, I would get right into specs, but in this instance, I’d want to start with a little overview of Eluktronics. They are one of the tiny businesses attempting to bridge the gap between high-end boutique laptop makers and the big players such as Dell, HP, MSI, and ASUS.
On the one hand, this is excellent news for anyone looking for something a little more personalized, but there are some negatives as well. For starters, you won’t be able to find their products all over the world, and international shipping fees will cost far more than buying a popular brand at a local shop.
Because the company is tiny, there are occasionally considerable delays between orders and deliveries, especially when a popular laptop like the RP-15 is released. Furthermore, when you consider the AMD CPU shortages that we have been hearing about from every manufacturer, both large and little, these are some factors that you will need to consider.
Considerations before purchasing the Eluktronics RP15 LaptopThe Eluktronics RP15 Laptop and Its Uses
Electronics RP-15 is an ultra-performance gaming laptop with an NVIDIA RTX graphics card, and it is the company’s first laptop with an NVIDIA RTX graphics card. In terms of performance and features, the RP-15 comfortably ranks among the Best gaming laptops.
Other thin-and-light 15.6-inch gaming laptops that compete with the RP-15 include the MSI GS66, Razer Blade 15, Asus Zephyrus S GX502, Lenovo Legion Y740-15, and Acer Predator Triton series.
The machine will be powered by an octa-core Ryzen 7 4800H CPU, GeForce RTX 2060 graphics, and a 1080p 144 Hz matte display. More details and choices for the RP-15 may be found on its product page here.
The GPU is the major highlight of this laptop since, owing to its ultra-fast, new RTX graphics card, you won’t have to deal with obsolete technology like SLI or GTX SLI support, which are both constrained by their dependency on a GPU and a GPU.
With RTX, it’s all possible on a single card, with no sacrifices! This implies that while running demanding games like AAA titles from studios like Bethesda, Rockstar Games, Ubisoft, and others, your machine will not be hampered by resource contention.
Pricing Eluktronics RP15 Laptop
In terms of specifications, our machine has a Ryzen 7 4800H processor, 16GB of DDR4-3200 RAM, a 512GB NVMe SSD, and RTX 2060, and a 144Hz IPS-class display.
All of this amounts to roughly $1,300 USD or $1,800 CAD, but if you want to go all out, the RP-15 can be configured with 8TB of SSD storage and 64GB of RAM for over $3,000 USD.
Unfortunately, a Ryzen 5 or a faster GPU are no longer available.
Ergonomics and performance Eluktronics RP15 LaptopIn terms of the laptop itself, this is undoubtedly intriguing. Eluktronics isn’t attempting to wow you with marketing jargon like RGB or outlandish designs. This is a basic and clean design; nothing more, nothing less. In addition, they collaborated with a brand to put a black matrix skin on the top cover.
You have the option of having it pre-applied or not. Unfortunately, our sample arrived with a few air bubbles; this is something that a blow dryer can correct, but I tried and it didn’t work, therefore I would definitely recommend purchasing it without it being pre-applied. That way, you may take your time applying it, yet it still looks great.
The chassis is made of a combination of aluminum and plastic components, so don’t anticipate a luxury unibody metal design. The hinge is ok, however, there is some wobbling and the display flexes somewhat. Again, you can’t expect more from hard plastic materials, and at the price, I’ll pass.
In terms of dimensions, this device is 19.8mm thick and weighs roughly 4.3lbs, so it’s rather light. It’s far lighter than the Dell G5 SE and TUF A15, so you can simply put it into a backpack. And, to be honest, I’m astonished at how slim it is for an AMD laptop.
Temps/Power/Frequency Over Time Eluktronics RP 15
With everything out of the way, I suppose it’s time to speak about the performance and to do so, I need to go over how the RP-15’s Office, Gaming, and Beast modes behave overtime during an all-core rendering workload. To begin with, temperatures are extremely well maintained in Gaming and Office modes, with little movement beyond 75°C.
Beast Mode, on the other hand, does become hotter, with a few spikes reaching around the 90°C levels, although even then, the RP-15 usually stays around 85°C. The enormous swings from one location to another in Beast Mode are unusual, but there is a reason for this.
When we look at power over time, it appears that all of the settings consistently exceed AMD’s power constraints. Office Mode appears to have a 45W restriction, Game Mode appears to have a 55W limit, and Beast Mode plays true to its name by reaching or over 75W.
That is really closer to desktop CPU power than I have seen from an AMD laptop, but based on temps, it appears that the cooling system can handle it, so I can’t complain. Clock rates in Beast Mode were quite steady at roughly 4.1GHz, which is the highest continuous frequency we have ever witnessed from an AMD laptop.
The intriguing thing here is that the power spikes we saw do not appear to induce a comparable rise in frequency. Sure, the RP-15 is pushing more power, but it doesn’t appear that the CPU is making use of it. The other two modes aren’t as constant, but they also give faster speeds than anything else we’ve tried so far.
Specifications for the Eluktronics RP15 laptopProcessors Eluktronics RP 15
It provides genuine performance from raw material processing. Similarly, if CineBench RP15 is utilized as a looper, performance support is excellent. The main downside of this computer is that it uses fan Boost Mode while attempting to utilize a CPU.
When the functionality was turned off in the UI, performance declined by around 10% relative to a Core II7-810875H. For this application, detailed specs and datasheets for the Ryzen 7 4800H have also been given. Smaller, in my opinion, equals safer. *… We feel that little is more. Smaller is preferable to larger.
GPU Performance Eluktronics RP 15 AMD Ryzen Gaming Laptop
The GeForce RTX3060 performs – the way most laptops do – on the same GPU level of performance. The raw performance on the computer of this machine is 15-20 percent quicker. Allow the Fan Uptake mode to increase processor speed by 1.6 percentage points.
Eluktronics RP 15 Ryzen Gaming Laptop System Noise
Fan vibration is closely related to certain offices’ gaming and fan booster modes. When not intrusive, it has a modest auditory response of 32 B(C) for streaming and surfing. Despite this, when in Gaming and Fan Booster mode, there may be a rise in frequency in fan noise if it reaches a high.
When playing Witcher 3 in Game or Fan Boost modes, fan vibrations can reach up to 44.8 dbA or 564.1 dd A. I know it’ll be modest, but bigger makes for higher sound levels.
Ryzen Gaming Laptop Eluktronics RP15 Laptop Display
The display is a 15.6-inch 1080P IPS-like display with a refresh rate of 144Hz. The colors appear fantastic, and it supports 95 percent sRGB, 73 percent Adobe RGB, and 74 percent DCI-P3 so you can get away with some content production, but I wouldn’t suggest it for serious colorwork. It also only reaches as bright as 330 nits, so outside visibility isn’t fantastic.
You see, the RP-15 is first and foremost a gaming laptop, and you get that seamless gaming experience owing to the faster refresh rate display. It’s a terrific experience, and you get nice colors on top of that, so it’s a good mix between the two, and I can’t complain about that, especially for the price.
Battery Life of Ryzen Gaming Laptop
Expect no miracles in terms of battery life, even in the Office Mode we tried, because this is a gaming notebook with a battery capacity roughly equivalent to many thin-and-light laptops.
However, it performs admirably in our light load test, lasting a little over 8 hours. When the workload is increased, the timings drop, but the RP-15 may still achieve acceptable times.
Eluktronics is currently supplying SKUs with 62 Wh batteries rather than 46 Wh cells to extend battery life. The bigger battery takes up more of the vacant area behind the right palm rest.
It takes roughly 2 hours to charge from empty to full capacity. Unlike the Asus Zephyrus M, the laptop cannot be charged through USB Type-C.
Webcam & Speakers Eluktronics RP 15 Gaming Laptop
Because of the reduced bezels, the 720p camera is located beneath the screen. It has infrared compatibility for Windows Hello, however, you must tilt the screen back for it to see you. The camera and microphone aren’t fantastic, and because it’s a nose cam, your fingers get in the way, and you have to set the screen rather far back to get yourself in the picture.
The speakers are located in the front, on the left, and right. I’d say they sounded slightly above average; there was considerable bass, but at maximum volume, there was some shaking in the palm rest. I felt they sounded loud enough at maxed up, and the latency mon findings seemed good.
Audio Analysis Eluktronics RP15
Bass is moderate though very good (74.8 decibels). Bass is 18.4% behind the median. Lows 200-200Hz (+) are balanced mids -3.7% closer to the median. Highs are symmetric (3.6% delta to the prior frequencies) Compared to a similar category » 72% have better performance, 78% comparable and 31% less performance. Backlit Keyboard Eluktronics RP 15 Ryzen Gaming Laptop
When contrasted to the MSI GS65’s deeper and quieter keys, the feedback is mild with a modest clatter. We still prefer it over the Blade 15’s keyboard, which we find too narrow. Unlike most other gaming laptops, the NumPad and arrow keys are the same size as the primary QWERTY keys.
The RGB keyboard lighting may be configured as a single zone, with limited effects accessible in the software, or you can set the entire thing to a color of your choice. All keys and secondary key operations are lit, and key brightness may be changed between four levels or shut off. Some people may not like the tiny right shift key, but I actually like typing on it; the keys were a little clicky.
The power button is located on the right, above the keyboard. There’s also a button that allows you to swiftly switch between different performance modes; more on this later.
Fingerprints appear rather readily on the matte black inside, but because it is a flat surface, they are easily removed with a microfiber cloth. The standard lid is presumably the same, but I didn’t detect any differences with the brand skin.
Touchpad EluTouchpad Eluktronics RP 15 Ryzen Gaming Laptop
The clickpad is adequate in size (11.5 x 7.5 cm), although it is still smaller than those found on the MSI GS66 (14 x 6.5 cm) and Razer Blade 15. (13 x 8.0 cm). Otherwise, cursor control is dependable and silky smooth, especially on a 144 Hz monitor. Slowly gliding across the surface causes some stickiness, which is expected for more accurate clicks.
When the integrated mouse keys are pushed, they provide a loud and gratifying “click.” The feedback, on the other hand, is a little mushy. If you intend to perform a lot of dragging and dropping, you’ll need an external mouse.
Connectivity Eluktronics RP 15 Ryzen Gaming Laptop
This laptop is equipped with I/O. A Kensington lock slot audio, RJ45 jack, a single USB 2.0 port, and audio jacks are located on the left side. On the right, there are two USB 3.1 Gen1 connections and a full-size UHS-I SD Card slot, which I wish was the speedier UHS-II kind.
There are two Mini DisplayPorts, HDMI 2.0, a USB Type-C Gen2 connector, and a power input on the rear. One thing I should add is that all of these USB ports are really tight; basically, if you attempt to connect something in, it’s extremely tough to get it out.
To unplug plugged-in gadgets, you must push yourself out, so keep that in mind. Perhaps that’s just our sample, but I felt it was worth noting.
SD Card Reader Eluktronics RP 15 Ryzen Gaming Laptop
The inbuilt SD reader’s transfer speeds are sluggish. Moving 1 GB of photos from our UHS-II test card to the desktop takes roughly 28 seconds, whereas the Dell XPS 15 9500 takes just under 7 seconds.
Communication
The Intel AX200 includes Bluetooth 5.1 and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity as standard. When linked with our Netgear RAX200 router, we had no connectivity difficulties.
Storage Devises AMD Gaming Laptop

Ryzen Gaming Laptop Review: SoftwareEluktronics Control Center
Another point worth mentioning is that, unlike the other gaming laptops we’ve looked at, this one comes with a totally clean version of Windows with no bloatware. In reality, the only software pre-installed is the Eluktronics Control Center, which allows you to experiment with onboard features and bespoke power plants.
Display color space modifications, for example, maybe made using presentations or a more in-depth three-axis interface, which is wonderful to see. Meanwhile, the RGB lights keyboard’s control is not only simple but also quite well done. I truly wish other manufacturers would take attention; it may not appear game-like, but this software does a great job.
There is also a section on power modes, which is arguably the most intriguing. This is where the Eluktronics Beast Mode may be found. It really increases CPU and GPU power to maximum levels while also introducing a more aggressive fan speed profile. You may also configure the fans to run at full speed all the time.
Meanwhile, Game Option is more of a balanced mode in this case, and it is still expected to provide exceptional performance without the need for such high fan speeds. Finally, the most efficient and quiet setting is Office Mode. The System Monitor section does exactly what it says on the tin.
Gaming on the Eluktronics RP15 LaptopLet’s also see how the RP-15 compares to other laptops in terms of gaming performance. I tried in turbo mode with eluktroboost on and max fans for the best results.
In Battlefield 5, I’ve highlighted the RP-15 in red.

It was intriguing to see that the ASUS TUF A15, which has the same CPU but a lower wattage GPU, was a few frames ahead, although I presume the A15 has a little overclock by default. I mean, it’s not enough to detect a difference when playing, but the RP-15 should theoretically be able to pull more power to the GPU.

The average frame rates in Far Cry 5, which were evaluated using the games benchmark tool, were faster than the A15 this time, however, the 115 watts 2060 in the MSI GL65 was faster, but there is also a CPU difference. The RP-15’s 1% low was higher than most of the other computers, owing to its exceptional CPU performance, as previously demonstrated.
These are the Shadow of the Tomb Raider results with the built-in benchmark at the maximum settings.

The TUF A15 with the identical CPU and GPU was now only 1 FPS ahead, which isn’t a difference you’d care about or see in practice. Because the display ports were directly linked to the Nvidia graphics, I checked with an external monitor to see what kind of speed gain was feasible, and in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, there was more of a boost at lower setting settings.
For the benchmarking tools, I used Unigine’s Heaven, Valley, and Superposition, as well as 3DMark’s Firestrike, Timespy, and Port Royal.
Social proofThe Ryzen Gaming Laptop Price and Competition
The device also has an Intel Core 6500U CPU with a 480X800 GPU and a dual-core CPU – as well as the Xperia 5800 GPU and an HDD that works at 144kps / 480fps (720p). All of this comes to approximately $1,600 per USD or about $1800 USD, and in most situations, this is a bundle of 8 TB and 64 GB RAM for around $3,400 USD. You don’t have a Ryzen5 with more processors right now.
Alternatives Ryzen Gaming LaptopEluktronics RP-15 Vs. Asus TUF A15 – (R7 Vs. R7)

Outperforms While the specs of the Eluktronics RP-15 and the Asus TUF A15 are extremely similar, there are significant distinctions that make one laptop a loser and the other a winner!
Here’s a quick rundown of the main points.
While the CPU, RAM, Display Size, and Graphics Card are same in both the Eluktronics RP-15 and the Asus TUF A15, the Asus TUF A15 features a larger 1TB SSD compared to the 512GB on the Eluktronics RP-15. Furthermore, the Eluktronics RP-15 has a HUGE flaw that renders it unusable. ASUS TUF A15 is the clear winner!
What is the issue? You may inquire.
Because the laptop is being sold at a “low” price, the quality will be low as well, as with most things in life. A user who purchased the Eluktronics RP-15 laptop reported his experience due to the low-quality driver support for his laptop:
One of the most severe headaches I’ve ever experienced when using a laptop on a long-term basis. USB ports stopped working, and managing them drove me mad. This brand’s drivers are packed up in their own website and appear to be behind regular update dates.
Because my USB ports are no longer functional, I am unable to utilize external devices, backup my data, or use a USB DAC, and, most critically, I am unable to install fresh Windows copies (or worse yet, Linux). Everything is closed down in the worst way conceivable, and I cannot give you enough advise to avoid this brand. They are inexpensive because the quality is low.
Because ASUS is a more well-known brand, you may expect significantly better driver support for their TUF A15 laptop. This is why this laptop wins, since you don’t want to be stranded like that unfortunate person, do you?
Anyway, this was just a summary of the main differences between these two Ryzen 7 4800H laptops that I wanted to convey. Let’s now cover the “small” distinctions that may not be as significant to discuss, but are still relevant and may offer value and help you decide which one to acquire.
Display Asus TUF A15
Despite the fact that both laptops have 15.6-inch 144Hz displays, none is appropriate for professional work such as picture or video editing. Look elsewhere for it. However, the color output of these panels will not disappoint you when it comes to gaming. They’re fantastic for gaming!
Storage Asus TUF A15
Eluktronics RP-15 comes with an NVMe 512GB SSD, however the model I chose to review here against this laptop comes with a 1TB NVMe SSD drive while being in the same price range, thus I had to compare it with a larger storage choice.
When it comes to 1TB storage, the ASUS TUF A15 appears to be a superior pick, even if it is already a winner in our eyes due to the unpleasant problem we mentioned before. However, the increased capacity is a stronger argument to choose this model than the Eluktronics RP-15.
RAM Asus TUF A15
While both laptops have precisely 16GB DDR4 RAM, the Asus TUF A15 has a slower 2666 MHz RAM compared to the Eluktronics RP-15’s 3200 MHz RAM. However, in the actual world, you could not even notice a change, therefore it’s not a problem in my opinion.
Here, let me share a comparison of these two RAMs if you’re interested:
Batteries Life smart amplifier power adapter Asus TUF A15
On paper, the Asus TUF A15 should provide better battery life than the Eluktronics RP-15 because it has a larger 90WH battery inside. According to Asus TUF A15 buyers, the battery life was “crazy” and “as excellent as claimed.”
Conclusion
In my opinion, the Asus TUF A15 is a definite winner! I’m not so sure about you. Because some of you may be thinking that you’ll stick with the Eluktronics RP-15 till they cure that annoying issue that locks you in and won’t allow you use your laptop.
Eluktronics RP-15 vs. Lenovo Legion 5 Gaming Laptop

Overall, the Eluktronics RP-15 appears to be a wonderful alternative when we look at its specifications, doesn’t it? But did you know it has a lot of driver issues?
I’ve heard customers say that their USB ports aren’t working and that they’re trapped waiting for the problem to be resolved.
They are unable to even install a fresh copy of Windows or Linux!
Imagine how you’d feel, or how I’d feel if you’d spent over a thousand dollars and this is how you ended up trapped!
Because of this issue, I would not advocate purchasing the Eluktronics RP-15, even if it appears to be extremely nice on paper in terms of stats and overall package since they’ve matched the Ryzen 7 4800H CPU with the RTX 2060, which no one has reportedly done up to this point.
Instead, I’d recommend getting the Lenovo Legion 5 laptop. Why? You’ll probably never notice the difference between the two because it just has a 24Hz lower refresh-rate display compared to the 144Hz, which isn’t much when you look at the numbers, especially if you’re upgrading from a 60Hz monitor. Don’t worry about the extra 24Hz because the 120Hz will still be a HUGE boost.
That’s what I’d say about the Refresh Rate of the Display if you believe it was the decisive factor in your decision to purchase the Eluktronics RP-15.
And if you desire that RTX 2060 but believe the GTX 1660Ti will be slower, let me tell you that you are completely mistaken! The GTX 1660Ti is a powerful GPU that can compete with the RTX 2060 in terms of performance.
Of course, it cannot compete with the RTX 2060, but when it is close enough to be indistinguishable, why would you want to suffer the same fate as our friend above?
Instead, acquire the Lenovo Legion 5 and have a hassle-free experience, as opposed to the individual who has to wait for the driver issue to be resolved in order to install Windows!
Let me simply show you a comparison of the two Graphics Cards so you can see for yourself how big of a difference there is when comparing them in 16 contemporary games.
Check out this Jarrod’s Tech comparison:
Based on the foregoing, I’ve concluded, and perhaps you have as well, that the Eluktronics RP-15 is not worth it! Get the Lenovo Legion 5 and you’ll enjoy about the same performance in games, as well as video editing and other productive jobs that rely mostly on a competent CPU and don’t rely as heavily on the GPU.
Also, by going with the Lenovo Legion 5, I can tell you that you’ll have a MUCH better experience when compared to the Eluktronics RP-15’s driver troubles since I know how it feels when even a single driver issue appears. Imagine if all of your USB ports stopped working! What an annoyance that would be.
Anyway, this is the major reason I’ve come to the conclusion that you should overlook the Eluktronics RP-15 and instead go with Lenovo’s Legion 5 laptop.
ConclusionLet’s sum up the positive and negative points of the Eluktronics RP-15 gaming laptop to help you determine if it’s worth it. Overall, the RP-15 is a terrific value for money and the finest Ryzen-based gaming laptop I’ve tried thus far. It isn’t ideal, and there are some flaws, but when compared to the TUF A15, Zephyrus G14, or Dell G5 SE, the concessions may be better.
In comparison to other Ryzen PCs, the screen has a larger color spectrum and better reaction time, and my unit had almost no bleed. It’s frustrating that there isn’t FreeSync as on most other AMD-based laptops, but this looks to be one such compromise in exchange for a screen with superb brightness, colors, and response speed, and I feel the tradeoff is justified.
The gaming performance was decent, but not as amazing as I had anticipated with a 110 watt 2060. In most games, the RP-15 fared similarly to other 2060 laptops, demonstrating that it is still pretty good and capable of taking on any game with good settings.
Outside of gaming, the RP-15 excels in CPU-intensive applications, outperforming rival Ryzen laptops by a wide margin thanks to high processor power limitations. Despite these increased restrictions, the CPU does not overheat. It was frequently cooler than the other PCs under combined CPU and GPU stress.
In the severe workloads I tried, the GPU did thermal throttle a bit in turbo mode, but not by much, and given that it was only 1 degree warmer than the TUF A15 with lower 90 watts 2060, I still view this as a superior option because the processor is considerably cooler.
Because of the big vents on the bottom, it’s also quite easy to increase cooling, thus a stand or cooling pad will aid significantly more than the A15 with less ventilation.
It’s convenient to have this choice without having to remove the panel. The one feature I didn’t like was the nose cam; with Windows Hello, it’s a little tricky to adjust the screen into the correct position to log you in, but that’s a small quibble.
The build quality was OK, nothing spectacular, and there’s some flex if you go out of your way to push, but at $1140 USD entry-level, you’re getting some significant power, and in particular, a better gaming experience compared to other competitive Ryzen machines I’ve tried while also being cheaper. Let me know what you think of the Eluktronics RP-15 gaming laptop in the comments; is it something you’d consider?
