Sharp Actius Review:
The Sharp Actius MC22 features built-in Wi-Fi. The difference? It doesn't have Intel inside. It uses the faster 802.11g radio for wireless networking, instead of Centrino's 802.11b, and instead of a Pentium processor offers a 2.2GHz AMD Mobile Athalon CPU.
The MC22 boasts one exclusive feature that can be a godsend to mobile professionals: Sharp's DirectHD technology lets you sync the MC22 with a desktop PC via a USB cable to keep your data up-to-date.
The 12.1-inch XGA display is one of the brightest, crispest displays on any Tablet or notebook because of Sharp's exclusive sharp-fx LCD optimization feature.
Overall performance is good, and applications load fairly quickly, even when several are running at the same time. Though Sharp is selling the Actius MC22 as a consumer model, this is definitely no toy. Battery life is only fair for a thin-and-light notebook. If you're not wandering too far from a power supply, this could be a good budget model thin-and-light for you.
